MINGORA: Hit by scorching heat and prolonged power outages, the residents of surrounding villages turn to Damazey waterfall at Shera Trup area here which gives them a cool respite.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Damazey \u2013 literally means a resting spot \u2013 is located about 17km off Mingora city at the mountains of Shera Trup village in Salampur union council. \u201cIt is actually a resting spot for the villagers of Shera Trup who climb up from the main Marghuzar road.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, it became famous when local tourists saw it and talked about it in their circles,\u201d said Abdullah, a resident of Shera Trup village.<\/p>\n

The small waterfall is an ideal spot flowing between two huge vertical rocks and giving a scenic view to the visitors apart from its cold water.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt remains crowded with young people from the surrounding villages of Slampur,<\/p>\n

Kokrai,Chitor and Spal Bandai. I go there with a group of friends daily to enjoy its cold water and stay there for three to four hours,\u201d said Nasar Khan, a resident of Salampur village.<\/p>\n

During Ramazan when the power loadshedding exceeded 18 hours in Mingora, many people from the city and its suburbs turned to the waterfall to spend the hottest hours of the day there.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of hot weather and outages we cannot stay at home in Mingora and come here daily where we take bath in the cool water of the fall,\u201d said Suliman Khan, a visitor who came with his friends from Amankot area.<\/p>\n

Haider Chattan who was playing with fast flowing water of the fall along with his other friend said that he came for the first time to the spot and would come again.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen people stand at the foot of the waterfall, a cool spray of water hit them with refreshing cool breeze,\u201d said Nisar, another visitor.<\/p>\n

Some visitors said that if a proper road to the waterfall was built it could be turned into a fine tourist spot. They urged the government to construct a road to the waterfall so that tourists could reach the site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
