SWAT: Girl students here on Friday vowed to excel in the fields of science and technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They were talking to this scribe during a science exhibition titled \u2018Khushal Science Fiesta 2021\u2019 organised by the Khushal School & College.<\/p>\n

Girl students from different disciplines and grades showcased their science models.<\/p>\n

Educationists, parents, government officials and civil society activists witnessed the models.<\/p>\n

The girls said there was a misconception that women could not become engineers and space scientists, and vowed to break such barriers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThough my parents want me to become a doctor I love to explore space. Becoming a space scientist is my passion,\u201d said Hadeeqa Tariq, a 10th grader, who was showcasing her model based on saving energy.<\/p>\n

Marjan, a student of 9th grade, who showcased a model on drip irrigation, said she developed an irrigation model which would save water to a great extent.<\/p>\n

Sara Rehman of grade nine was showcasing her model on new techniques of greenhouse effects.<\/p>\n

Faiza Naaz, a grade nine student who developed an air-cooler, claimed her technology was cheap and durable, while 9th grader Sara Rehman developed hydraulic actuator tools which, according to her, were more efficient than the ones with air hydraulic techniques.<\/p>\n

Tenth graders Hajra Aziz and Sawera Iqbal showcased their models based on biology.<\/p>\n

The event organiser said it was the age of science and technology and teaching of the discipline was not possible without practical involvement of students in the relevant field.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that strides in science and technology can alone make our motherland a modern state. We are striving to inculcate a creative attitude among the young minds, especially girls,\u201d said Huma Shakir, the school principal, adding involving girls in such activities was the need of the hour.<\/p>\n
