MINGORA: Five people were killed in separate incidents in Swat on Thursday.
Police said that two people were killed and two others sustained injuries when two groups clashed over drinking water in Kohistan Gut area of Saidu Sharif.
They said Syed Mahmood Jan from one group and Naeemullah from the other group were killed when they opened firing on each other. Hidayatullah and Anwar Jan received injuries in the firing.
In another incident, Jaffar, a resident of Madyan, was injured when gunmen opened firing on him. He was rushed him to Saidu Teaching Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The wife of the deceased lodged FIR against Jamshed and Fazl Rahim. Police arrested Jamshed.
Similarly, Ajab Khan, a resident of Miandam, was shot dead over enmity. Meanwhile, a five-year-old boy identified as Yaseen died after drowning in Nepkikhel irrigation channel in Barra Bandai area of Kabal tehsil.
