MINGORA: Over 5000 students from the seven districts of Malakand division appeared in the ETEA test for medical and dental colleges of KP here on Sunday.

The students belonged to district Swat, Shangla, Buner, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Chitral. Among them as many as 1207 girls also appeared in the test from across the region. The students, though, praised the arrangements yet they said the previously cancellation and then postponement left them psychologically down.

This year the ETEA test for medical and dental colleges was scheduled on July 15 but was postponed due to heavy rains. The test was rescheduled on August 19 but it was cancelled due to leak of paper.

“I did the 19 August test very well and I was fully satisfied to get higher marks and was excited for its result but that test was shockingly cancelled due to paper leak,” said Aiman a girl student in Mingora.

Her father said that she developed psychological issues and got several shocks after the cancellation of the 19 August paper and then delayed several times.

Other students said that the continuous postponement and cancellation disturbed them which affected them mentally.

“It was like a sword of Damocles on our head as every moment it stuck us that the test would get postponed or cancelled,” said Abdul Basit another candidate.

A total of 38,065 candidates including 23,461 boys and 14,604 girls from across the province appeared in the test, according to a statement issued by Khyber Medical University.
