Nowadays, we the human being are faced with an alarming issue of environmental pollution caused by plastic bags and garbage. You can see litter and waste everywhere thrown in the street.

Unfortunately, we are making our environment and surroundings dirty and ugly by throwing plastic bags, litters, garbage, plastic bottles, fruit and vegetables’ peels everywhere.

Cleanliness is half the faith, emphasized by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) but, today, Muslims have ignored cleanliness. Throwing garbage and waste in the streets not only make the environment dirty but also spread various diseases which ultimately cause deaths.

In villages people often tie domestic animals in the streets outside their houses and the urination and dungs make the streets dirty and cause bed smell. Moreover, houseflies and mosquitoes also fly around in such environment making it difficult for human life.

We know that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness “and this is our responsibility as Muslims and human beings to keep our environment clean and beautiful. We should regularly clean our streets and other living places. We should not throw garbage and waste in the streets but properly put them in waste bins.

I suggest that the relevant authorities should install waste bins everywhere and should establish volunteer groups in different areas to keep eye on those who throw garbage and other waste materials in the streets. The group will guide local residents how and where to throw the garbage.

People should also fix waste bins in front of their houses and guide their children to throw the waste or garbage in it.

Similarly, local residents should launch cleanliness campaign and should not feel shy in cleaning their streets. Let’s make our environment clean and beautiful.
