SWAT: Turkish students on Friday, who visited Swat during Eidul Fitr holidays, praised Swat police for recovering their lost bag immediately and giving them a high standard of hospitality.
According to Roshan Ali, SHO Ghaligey police station the three Turkish students, Izzuddin from Mardin, Gokhan and Salaah Uddin from Bakar in Turkey who are studying in Pakistan visited Swat during Eidul Fitr holidays but they lost their bag containing passports and other important documents came to the police station for filing report.
“When they came, I assured them not to worry as we will try our best to find out the bag very soon. They left their bag in Karakar area which is a tourist spot. We informed all the police stations and made announcements in mosques for the lost bag and luckily in two hours we received the bag from some people,” said Roshan Ali, adding that Turkey was a brethren country and every Pakistani loved Turkey and its people.
The Turkish tourists said that they were impressed by the behaviour of the police and hospitality of the local people.
“We visited different police stations for registering reports about our bag and we were inspired by the friendly behaviour of the police. They served us with tea and assured us that soon they would recover the lost bag and we are surprised that in two hours they did so,” said the Turkish students, adding that Swat was not only a scenic valley but also its people are very friendly and hospitable.
The Turkish students have friends in Swat and they said they would visit Swat again and again.
“We are happy that we did not disappoint our Turkish friends who visited us. They went back to Islamabad happily and impressed,” said Asif Khan, one of their friends and a resident of Barikot, adding that Turkey was a close friend of Pakistan and every Turkish was their brother.
“We welcome our Turkish brothers to Swat and we will be happy to host them here,” he said.
