MINGORA: To promote reading habit among students, a two-day books exhibition was held at Saidu Sharif Medical College here on Thursday.

Thousands of books on various subjects ranging from literature to medical science were displayed at the stalls where students were offered discount.

Ayesha Khan, a fourth year student of the college, said that she was happy to see books on a range of subjects. “The best thing about the expo is that books are available on 50 per cent discount,” she said.

Ikramullah Wazir, another student, said that apart from books, medical equipment were also available on discount prices. “This is a very good opportunity for us to have books and medical equipment,” he said.

The students also said that books of medical studies were not easy to find everywhere and they had to go after them to the big cities. However, medical books were easily available in the expo which made their work easy.

“We found different books not only on discount prices, but we also found some rare books here,” said Dr Hina.

Prof Naeem Khan said that the books exhibition was held every year in the college to attract students towards book reading.
