MINGORA: The novel coronavirus on Saturday evening claimed two more lives after which the death tally reached three in Swat valley.
Both of the deceased were kept in the HDU isolation of Saidu Teaching Hospital (STH). The first person died, belonged to Aryanai village in union council Balakot of Bahrain tehsil. The second person died, belonged to Rahimabad area in Mingora. Both of them had returned from Tableghi Markaz Lahore.
With six more positive cases, the Covid-19 tally reached 25 in Swat. According to DHO Swat Dr Ikram Shah, the six new persons who tested positive for Covid-19 had also participated a funeral prayer held on March 19 in Shingartan area of Matta tehsil. Earlier seven other persons of the family where death occurred were also reported positive for the Covid-19. Thus the total affectees of the funeral prayers reached 13.
Number of the total suspects reached 236 with 25 tested positive for Coronavirus Covid-19, 135 tested negative and result awaited of 76 cases while three deaths occurred in Swat so far.
Deputy Commissioner Saqib Raza Aslam issued directives to provide personal protective equipment to all the LHWs and LHVs in Swat. He also ordered to immediately quarantined a 14-house area in Yousafabad Mohallah in Gumbat Maira from where two suspected cases appeared on Saturday. He also ordered to disinfect the whole residential area with chlorine water.
