MINGORA: A one-window operation driving license unit established here in Swat aiming to provide quick and immediate facilities to general public.
Malakand division Deputy Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan along with district Swat police officer Whaid Mehmood inaugurated the newly established one-window operation driving license unit on Friday.
While sharing the need of the unit in Swat DPO Swat briefed DIG and other officials said that people including women from far flung areas used to come to get driving licenses but faced multiple issues. “Driving license seekers had to visit different places to fulfill the requirements for driving license and it took several days to complete the initial process,” he said, adding that with the establishment of the one-window unit driving license seekers would be facilitated at one venue in a single day.
“Now every facility including bank, medical unit, photo making unit and female staff for women will be available for the candidates and in a single day they will complete all the process,” he said, adding that after completing the entire process in the first day the candidates would be issued a learner permit.
Appreciating the newly established facility DIG Malakand Akhtar Hayat on the occasion said that it was one of the best initiatives to facilitate general public.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police was known for high professionalism and a strong link of confidence established between people and police in the province.
“Police are public servants and we want to make police stations as welfare centers where all people can come without hesitancy to report their issues,” he said.
He suggested that police must treat driving license seekers with good manners and carry out their duty in pleasant way.
