Mingora: Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaaf (PTI) in Swat district so far leading by securing 25 district government seats while Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) stood stand and grabbed 21 district seats in the Local Government (LG) polls held on Saturday 30 May.

Like other parts of the Khyber Pkhtukhwah (KP), province the both independent and political part backed candidate run for 67 seats each for district and tehsil counsil in Swat district, in which the ruling party in KP province swept Swat district by winning 24 seat of district council.

PML-N, the ruling party in the center managed to stand 2nd in the rank after claiming 21 seats of district assembly.

Similarly, independent candidates also took part by taking a solo flight in the LG polls clinched 10 seats.

The nationalist party, Awami National Party (ANP), secured 8, Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), took 2 and Jumati Islami (JI) and Pakistan People Part (PPP) managed to salvage only one seat of district counsel.

Meanwhile, PTI’s candidate won 25, in their run for seats in tehsil counsel in Swat district, ANP won 10, PML-N got 9, JI got 8, JUI got 7, independent 5 while Qumi Watan Party (QWP), managed to win only one seat in a total of 67 seats of tehsil counsel  in Swat district.
