SWAT: The weather in Swat district took a sharp turn as a fresh wave of snowfall draped the mountains and rain poured across the lowlands, casting a picturesque yet chilly atmosphere across the region. According to the Meteorological Office in Swat, the snowfall commenced Thursday night, engulfing the hilly terrains in white, while the lowlands experienced steady rainfall.
Mild to heavy snowfall has been reported in various hilly areas of Swat, including Malam Jabba, Mankiyal, Peshamal, Kalam, Utror, Gabral, Matiltan, Mahodand, Gabin Jabba, Elum, Sangar, and other mountainous regions, where temperatures plummeted to freezing points. The Meteorological Office forecasts the continuation of snowfall in the mountains and rainfall in the lowlands until Sunday evening.
The onset of snowfall has attracted tourists from different parts of the country, particularly from Islamabad and Lahore, seeking to experience the magic of the winter wonderland. Among them, voices of delight resonated as they engaged in various snow-related activities.
“I have never witnessed such a mesmerizing sight before. The snowfall here in Malam Jabba is simply enchanting,” exclaimed Ayesha Khan, a tourist from Islamabad, her eyes gleaming with excitement. “It’s like stepping into a fairy tale.”
Similarly, Ali Hassan from Lahore expressed his exhilaration, saying, “The thrill of experiencing snowfall in Kalam is beyond words. It feels like nature’s celebration, and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”
As tourists frolicked amidst the snow-clad landscapes, laughter and joy filled the air, creating memories that would linger for years. The serene beauty of Swat, adorned in its wintry splendour, continues to captivate hearts and minds, beckoning travellers from far and wide to partake in its snowy embrace.
