SWAT:  The Swat Bar Association here on Tuesday announced a strike and boycott of courts on Wednesday against the arrest of PTI workers and lawyers for conducting a workers’ convention in Khwazakhela tehsil.

According to a press release issued by the Swat Bar Association, a meeting was held under President Saeed Khan’s chairmanship. In the meeting, regret was expressed for the FIR against the lawyers and workers of PTI who participated in the Workers’ Convention of Tehreek-e-Insaf held in the residence of Ali Shah Khan Advocate.

The bar association also criticized the inclusion of anti-terrorism sections in the FIR, which was lodged against 2500 PTI workers and lawyers.

In the meeting, the bar association decided that today, lawyers would go on a strike and boycott the courts to protest the FIR and PTI workers.

On 26 November, Swat police lodged an FIR against 2500 PTI lawyers, leaders, and workers for conducting the PTI workers’ convention.
